The Canmore General Hospital continues to play an important role in supporting the health and well-being of the community. 

Thoughtfully designed to support both patients and healthcare teams, the renovated department includes four additional rapid assessment spaces, a spacious waiting area, and barrier-free washrooms that enhance accessibility and comfort. The triage and registration area has been reconfigured to provide a welcoming first point of contact, while a centrally located nursing station offers clear sightlines to patient care areas and supports communication and collaboration among staff. The project also includes a dedicated treatment room for patients experiencing mental health crises, along with contemporary interior finishes that contribute to a calm and supportive atmosphere.

Delivered in three carefully planned phases within the active hospital, the renovation allowed emergency services to remain operational throughout construction. The completed project provides a modern, functional emergency department designed to support high-quality patient family-care for the Canmore community.
