ACI was incorporated in Edmonton, Alberta on November 14th, 1991 (see Where It All Began). In thirty years, it has grown to a mid-sized full-service architectural and interior design consulting firm. ACI operates as a partnership, with ownership shared between Darryl Rewniak and Eddo Cancian, both of whom collaborate closely to manage and direct the company’s operations.

Over the past ten years, ACI has doubled in size. Our staff is composed of registered architects, intern architects, interior designers, as well as technologists, project managers, and contract administrators, including LEED and WELL accredited professionals, and corporate support personnel. 

OUR PROFILE 

Since the company’s inception, we have become recognized as a leader in the Alberta market, predominantly working with the public sector. ACI specializes in community sports and recreation facilities, civic facilities, professional sports facilities and arenas, K-12 schools, acute care, specialized care facilities, protective services, and multi-family residential buildings. Our projects range from major renewals and modernizations of over $80M, to new greenfield builds, to assessments and concept development / feasibility reports for under $2M. 

Our portfolio includes a diverse array of building types, addressing various budgets and delivery methods. We excel in collaborative delivery models like Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) and construction management, along with traditional approaches, especially for large-scale infrastructure projects. Our experience includes roles as bridging consultants for P3 and Design Build projects. Additionally, we've served as facilitators, coordinators, and designers for smaller-scale upgrades and renovations, maintaining the same high level of dedication and expertise regardless of project size. 

ACI Architecture is one of Canada’s most experienced IPD practitioners, having successfully delivered eleven projects utilizing the IPD procurement process. Past projects such as the City of Edmonton’s $100M Expo Centre Rehabilitation, and nine projects for Edmonton Public Schools ranging from small renovations to $47M new build bundles, showcase our success in delivering a harmonious, collaborative project experience.
