  • Duties and Responsibilities

    • Assist in the preparation of architectural drawings, including plans, elevations, and details, using Revit software.
    • Contribute to the preparation of presentation materials, including renderings, diagrams, and visualizations, to effectively communicate design concepts.
    • Assist in the production of design development and construction documents, including floor plans, building sections, and schedules.
    • Participate in brainstorming sessions to develop creative design solutions that meet client needs and project requirements.
    • Conduct research on building materials, construction techniques, and sustainability strategies to inform design decisions.
    • Collaborate with project architects and consultants to coordinate drawings and specifications and ensure compliance with building codes and regulations.
    • Attend client meetings, site visits, public engagements, and project meetings to gain exposure to the architectural process and client interactions.
    • Assist with related other tasks as assigned by the Project Architect or Project Manager.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in architecture.
    • Enrolled, or eligible for enrollment, as an Intern Architect with the Alberta Association of Architects (AAA) or another recognized provincial architectural association.
    • Four to five years of experience in an architectural or design production environment.

    Your skills should also include the following

    • Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, BlueBeam, Enscape, Microsoft Office Suite (Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Adobe Suite, and Twinmotion.
    • Excellent design sensibility and understanding of architectural principals and theory
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively within a team
    • Attention to detail with the ability to produce accurate, code-compliant construction drawings.
    • Proven ability to manage time effectively and balance multiple priorities.
    • Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
    • Enthusiasm for learning and a passion for architecture and design.
